Lives and works in Paris
Born in 1993 in Frankfurt, Lea Simhony lives and works in Paris. She graduated from Beaux-Arts de Paris in June 2022.
In the paintings of Léa Simhony, the plant, and especially the flower, are patterns that return tirelessly, constantly renewed through the different spaces they inhabit. Symbol of the ephemeral, the flower occupies a central place in her painting which prevents its decline, and freezes it forever. They emerge from abstract landscapes, representing a form of absence. And yet, from a forgotten land – life, deposited by the artist's brush. These flowers come to inhabit ruins and remains to give them a new existence.
