ABOUT

Born in 1997 in Kinshasa, capital of the Republic of Congo, David is a young painter who lives and works in
Paris. After obtaining his baccalaureate in visual communication, David Mbuyi turned to the applied arts. He joined the preparatory class VIA FERRATA and then the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2020. Paris. Currently in his final year in the studio of Djamel Tatah, he evolves in a figurative style. His work is characterized by a series of social paintings representing a part of our daily lives, a moment of escape from confinement. He conceives his work as an archive, a repertoire, or the support of a brainstorming. David Mbuyi was the winner of the François Dujarric De La Rivière Prize in 2020.
